Over my 14 years at EDC I brought it up 5 times and was shot down in no uncertain terms by council each time. The leadership and some members would not allow discussion; most of them are gone but one is still there. While the seeds were planted years ago the conditions have to be right to succeed. A new council with a different perspective is a good thing. Had we had people like we have now in place years ago we could have moved the ball forward as well. I just hope they get it right this time because I have seen this issue handled badly and "you get one chance to make a first impression". My impression is the mayor will support it along with Tom so that should be a good start. At least you can get it moving. Good luck. Larry David,
